Experiences & Workshops

In today’s fast-paced world, authentic connections are more essential than ever. These nature-focused art experiences offer a sense of balance by combining the restorative power of creativity with the serenity of the natural world.

Our nature-inspired art workshops are thoughtfully designed to spark creativity, cultivate curiosity, and nurture meaningful connections.

Creative expression has a unique ability to enhance well-being. It encourages mindfulness, fosters self-reflection, and offers new perspectives. Throughout history, the creative arts have played a vital role in human flourishing, serving as a universal language that connects us emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

With over 20 years of experience in art education, I have witnessed the profound impact that artistic expression can have on both individuals and groups. Art has a way of communicating what words cannot. The creative process fosters confidence, promotes self-care, and often leads to meaningful insights. Best of all, it brings joy.

Choose Your Experience

Botanical Printing

Discover the timeless art of botanical printing and monotype. Create a series of stunning prints using flowers and foliage sourced from the garden.

Botanical printing has a rich history, originating from the ancient Greek pharmacologist Dioscorides, whose manuals were widely used during the Middle Ages and Renaissance for plant illustration. Leonardo da Vinci even included a sage leaf print and detailed instructions for the technique in one of his manuscripts.

As the need for plant identification grew, artisans like perfumers developed their own manuals. By the 19th century, advancements in printing introduced vibrant colors and a more naturalistic style.

Observational Drawing with Natural Elements

This session, suitable for all skill levels, focuses on contour, line, form, negative space, and shading techniques using pencil and charcoal. It is a calming and immersive experience designed to enhance concentration, mindfulness, and attention to detail.

Linocut Printmaking

Dive into the foundational techniques of linocut printmaking! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to:

• Transfer your sketches to linoleum blocks

• Carve intricate designs

• Handprint your creations using water-based inks on exquisite Japanese paper

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautifully crafted edition of prints.

Cyanotype Printing (Spring/Summer)

Experience the magic of cameraless photography through cyanotype printing! This unique technique, discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1842, uses photosensitized paper and UV light to create vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints. Anna Atkins, a pioneering botanist, was the first to use cyanotypes in her published works.

In this workshop, you’ll create a stunning collection of botanical prints on both paper and fabric, celebrating the beauty of nature with this historic method.

Hypertufa Planters (Spring/Summer)

Craft your own rustic hypertufa planters, inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. These lightweight yet durable containers are created using a blend of perlite, Portland cement, and peat moss to mimic the appearance of stone.
